Rune Set - Purple - Elder Futhark

It is said that Odin, the Allfather, the greatest of all Norse Gods sacrificed one eye in order to see the cosmos more clearly and his thirst for wisdom had him hang from Yggdrasil - the World Tree for nine days and nights until he was blessed with the knowledge of the Runic alphabet.

Runes have always been said to hold magical powers. The symbols were used as protective devices to ward off evil. It has been said that by calling on the appropriate Rune, one can make contact with the force in nature represented by the symbol.

The word ‘rune’ simply means mystery, whisper or secret and it’s a form of divination or oracle reading system that’s used to help gain insight into situations or questions.

25* Runes - This set does contain the blank Rune. Although there is no historical support for a "Blank Rune", it is usually ascribed to Ralph Blum in the 1980's. However, there is some evidence that the blank rune, may have been used for divination as early as the 16th Century. For the 'purists' amoung us, the choice is yours wether to use the blank Rune or not. If you choose not to use it, keep it for a spare, just in case you loose/misplace one.
