The Maiden is surrounded by spring flowers, doves and the hare of fertility; Mother is rooted in the live-giving oak tree with belly swollen with child and full of promise; and the Crone is depicted in winter woods with the wise owl, raven and serpent. Runic symbols adorn the sleeves of her garment. All are watched over by the changeing phases of the moon.
